Delicious Strawberry Banana Smoothie

It was a great summer for us. Kids had fun, we visited Golden State, reunion with friends and family was awesome. But one thing we did a lot, again and again was strawberry picking. Not just because we love this wonderful fruit, but kids have a great time running in the fields, picking and tasting fresh strawberries.

Every trip we would come back home, eat some and I ‘d freeze the rest. By the end of strawberry picking season, when I finally looked into my freezer, it was stocked up fully. There was no more space left for anything else.

Since then, I decided never to peek into my freezer, for I was so afraid of all those frozen strawberries looking back at me, and screaming, why did you store so many of us lol. Well, recently, one of those hot days, my husband and kiddo wanted something sweet and chilling to drink. Frozen strawberries came to rescue.

I love bananas in lot of my recipes, so I have them all the time at home. Bananas and strawberries make such a delicious smoothie. If you love bananas, and strawberries you will love this refreshing and mouthwatering drink. I used frozen strawberries, that was perfect for a hot summer day.

If you want a healthier version, feel free to add honey, low fat milk, ground flax seeds and wheatgerm. Bananas make this smoothie extra thick, in addition to Greek Yogurt. The wonderful and creamy base is so soothing. Bananas complement variety of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, pineapples and pears perfectly.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Strawberries frozen or fresh
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 Banana sliced
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1/2 tsp White Sugar

Instructions

  1. In the container of a blender, combine the strawberries, yogurt, banana, milk and sugar. Cover, and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
