Do you feel like Iâ€™ve suddenly switched gear from sweet, gooey and creamy holiday goodies to super healthy highly nutritious smoothies? Well, I feel so too, but just like everybody else, I had decided to get on the healthy eating bandwagon as soon as the holidays are over. I hope to keep it this way as long as I can. In order to keep up with my routine, I have decided to write everything down.
My Morning Routine and Detox Drink
I have been thinking about starting a new super healthy routine where I would be drinking at least 4 â€“ 5 glasses of water everyday, but just like so many other (important) things, I would mostly forget. So this time for a change, I decided to take control of things, and write everything down, including how many glasses of water I drink everyday.
I found out about thisÂ healthy detox drinkÂ where you slice up a few citrus fruits (like oranges, lemons, lime etc), without peeling in a container, filling it up with water. Drink this up every few hours. When you take out a glass of water, fill up the container again with fresh water. You have to drink it at least 4 â€“ 5 times a day.Â (Please let me know if you are interested in knowing more about this detox drink, I will be happy to write down the recipe for you)
I have also been trying to eat and drink healthy. Being a vegetarian, I have to make sure that me and my family is consuming enough minerals and vitamins required by our bodies. Besides healthy recipes, I try to make sure that they taste delicious as well. This Banana Avocado Pear Smoothie is one such drink that is not only healthy but tastes delicious.
Sam and I love to drink it in the mornings for breakfast. Not only is it healthy, it keeps us full for so many hours. Ripe pears and honey give it the sweet flavor. Banana and avocado make it thick and creamy. I love to add avocado in my smoothies. I could also add Greek Yogurt, but I feel I can get much more nutrition from Avocado.
Rich and Creamy Banana Avocado Pear Smoothie
- 1/2 banana
- 1 pear
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 cup spinach
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1 cup skim milk
- 1/2 Banana 1 Pear 1/2 Avocado 1/2 cup Spinach 1/2 tbsp Honey 1 cup Skim Milk
