An italian sauce , usually served with spaghetti, pizza or pasta's sauce

Ingredients

2 Table spoon olive oil
1 Large onion, chopped
1 Carrot, chopped
1 Celery Stick, chopped
2 Cloves garlic, chopped
500 g (1 lb) Beef mince
1 cup (250ml / 8 fl oz) beef stock
2 x 425g (14 oz) cans chopped tomatoes
1 1/2 cups (375ml / 12 fl oz) red wine
1 teaspoon sugar

Cooking Steps

Head the olive oil in a large heavy based pan.Add the onion, carrot and celery and cook, stirring, over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until softened. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute
Add the mince and cook until well browned. break up any lumps with a fork
Once the mince is browned, add the stock,tomatoes, wine and sugar
Bring to the boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Seasons to taste with salt and pepper.

Summary

Serve hot or keep covered, for up 2 days in the refrigerator. Can also be frozen for up to 2 months
