About Thyme

What is thyme?

This mini spice used a lot in western cuisine. Thyme is one of famous leaf spice come from Egypt. It has mini leaf, has oval shape, and hard stalk. Has exclusive and fragrance aroma. In greek thyme used a lot as herbal medicine.

As time goes by, thyme used a lot in Europe, Portugese, Lebanon, Turkey, Espanol, Carribean, Middle East. This leaf fragrance better when it's dehydrated. Thyme fragrance suitable with roasted meat and soup. In broth cooking, thyme often add with 'bouquet of garni' along with onion, carrot, onion leaf, and parsley.

Nowadays, thyme can be bought freshly or dry. For dry thyme, better keep in shuted tight container cause thyme fragrance can easily disappear along with air.
